Bachelor Auction: (April) This is a community fundraising event in which bachelors are auctioned off for charity.
Diamond Skills : (May & June) A community project much like Punt Pass and Kick. Children ages 7 - 14 can compete in different baseball skills such as batting, fielding/throwing and base-running. Top winners in each event and age group can advance to regionals.
Punt Pass and Kick : (September) A community project much like Diamond Skills. Children compete in different football skills such as punting, passing and kicking. Top winners in each event and age group advance to the next level.
Shooter's Education: (March & April) A course that teaches children how to use a gun safely by having them shoot BB guns and take a written test. The top shooters can advance to the state and national competitions.
Christmas Shopping Tour : (December) An annual event where underprivileged children are taken shopping for presents for their families with money donated by area merchants.
Beautiful Baby Contest: (May) A community project in which anyone may submit pictures of a cute baby or young child! The pictures are put on display at a local grocery store where community members can vote for the cutest baby. This project offers the chance to share information about the Jaycees and the funds are donated to a worthy cause. This year they were donated to MeritCare's Children's Hospital.
International Night: (monthly) A monthly social activity whereby members and their friends meet at a local restaurant to enjoy an evening of food, drinks and learning about a different culture.
Elderly Bingo: (monthly) A community activity with the elderly held the first Monday of each month at Elim Nursing Home in South Fargo. For an hour we providing an evening of Bingo entertainment by calling Bingo numbers, handing out prizes and helping the elderly with their Bingo cards.
Prairie Public Television Pledge Drive: (March & October) We volunteer to answer phones to take pledges for Prairie Public Television during their membership drive.
Distinguished Service Awards: (April) This event recognizes individuals in the community and the chapter for outstanding leadership. The awards are presented in various areas: firefighter, law enforcement officer, religious leader, educator, boss of the year, and community pride. Also presented are the: James Black Award, Distinguished Service Award, and Outstanding Young Farmer.
Fishing Buddies: (September) A community project in which we take children from the YWCA fishing for the day. It is a chance for these children to forget their worries for the day.
Sandbox Sales: (May) This is a chapter fundraising event in which Jaycees construct and fill existing and new sandboxes for residents in the community.
Haunted House: (October) Our biggest management project in which we put on a Haunted House for the community.
Casino Night: (When Requested) This is a chapter fundraising event in which Jaycees provide entertainment by running different gaming tables like Black Jack, Roulette, Chuck-a-Luck and Bing. Play money is used to play the games.
PRIME Training: (August) It is a "train the leaders" course. Instructors from Nationals teach the course.
RedHawks Social: (Summer) A social and membership activity whereby we have a tailgate party and watch a RedHawks Game. This year, the RedHawks played the Sioux Falls Canaries. Five members from the Sioux Falls chapter came to Fargo to watch the game.
Progressive Dinner: (Fall) This is one of Jaycees best socials! You are invited into the homes of our fellow Jaycees for food and fun. This years theme was American.
Comedy Club: (Summer) A membership and social activity whereby members and their friends meet at Courney's Comedy Club to laugh and have a great time.
Volleyball Tournament: (August) A tri-city volleyball tournament held at Lindenwood Park. This year, 11 teams participated in a lower and upper league.
Almost Friday Club (AFC): (Monthly) A social activity whereby members and their friends and/or coworkers meet at an establishment the 3rd Thursday of each month. We have appetizers and drinks. Prizes are sometimes given away. It is a good way to meet current and potential Jaycee members in an informal setting. We have a great time!
Lunch Bunch: (Monthly) A monthly social activity whereby members and their friends meet at a local restaurant for lunch at Noon. It is a time to socialize and have some good food.
Winter Social: (Winter) A social activity whereby members and their friends get together for a fun day in the snow. This year, we enjoyed cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and playing Ice Croquet at a fellow Jaycees Lake Cabin.
Softball: (Summer) Jaycee members and their friends played in the coed Softball "Division 4". Games were Wednesday nights.
International Night: A monthly social activity whereby members and their friends meet at a local restaurant to enjoy an evening of food, drinks and learning about a different culture.
Resume Writing: (Anytime) An individual development project in which individuals learn how to create a professional resume.
Parliamentary Procedure Training: (January or February) An individual development project in which individuals learn the correct way to conduct a meeting by using Parliamentary Procedure.
JC Jeopardy: (Monthly) An individual development project in which individuals learn more about the Junior Chamber, the North Dakota Jaycees, and the Fargo Jaycees by answering trivial type questions. Competitions are held at State and National levels.
Speak-Up: (Monthly) An individual development project in which individuals speak on a topic that is assigned to them. Competitions are held at State and National levels.
Write-up: (Monthly) An individual development project in which individuals write on a topic that is assigned to them. Competitions are held at State and National levels.
